If he comes up Trumps what does that say about his backers?

It's all the rage at the moment with the US Presidential election fast approaching; Clinton or Trump on the minds of most Americans.
On my mind is how the hell did he get there in the first place?? The mind boggles as I consider some of the vile that has spewed from his mouth in the past year.
Trump on Mexicans 'They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapist'.
His disdain for African Americans 'laziness is a trait in Blacks'. His misogyny rife as he blabs “My favorite part [of 'Pulp Fiction'] is when Sam has his gun out in the diner and he tells the guy to tell his girlfriend to shut up. Tell that bitch to be cool. Say: 'Bitch be cool.' I love those lines.” and I don't have the stomach to quote from his recently leaked audio from 2005 where he brags that he can sexually assault women. He hates Muslims to boot.
I understand prejudice people will happily elect a prejudice president but a candidate with no experience in foreign policy, Trump doesn't even know the difference between Hamas and Hezbollah. What are these people thinking? So I did a lot of research desperate to understand why people want him in the oval office. Perhaps it's because:
Trump backers view their country as a business and Trump is a businessman
The American economy took a big hit during the GFC and is still recovering today. Perhaps Trump backers believe this businessman can salvage America, salvage the banks, salvage Wall Street.
They dream about the days of 'America the Great'
It's no secret that in the past Americans viewed their country as the best in the world, I'm sure many still do. With an ego like Trumps he more than anybody will strive to make America the biggest and the best again. It is what he stands for.
A cry for change
For the Trump backers, Obama has made no real change. When Obama was first elected Americans were filled with hope. For many white middle class Trump backers (sadly some of them racists), Obama did not deliver. In their eyes he did nothing to stop the immigrants and beef up the wealth of the middle class. They believe Trump will.
A collective middle finger to the Establishment
Trump has mesmerized voters. People say they have never seen a presidential candidate like Trump: He's unfiltered; he's anti-establishment; he exudes confidence and strength; he's not a politician. It's similar to what has happened here in Australia, why else would anybody vote for Pauline Hanson?
Trump is amusing to watch for some people (disturbing right?)
I really believe some people find him amusing to watch. He says things people only might think (not say) when they are drunk in oblivion. A comedic actor who never breaks character, perhaps a cruder and nastier version of Michael Scott from The Office (American version).
Recovering from a 'Black American' President
The red necks have spoken, need I say more.
He's the John Wayne or Dirty Harry that will save America from the Terrorist
Many Americans are scared. September 11 had a profound impact, the war had come to their door step. I think Trump fronts as a tough protector that will not back down against all odds; like 'Dirty Harry' but people that was a movie!!
Tuesday November 8 is just around the corner, who will you be voting for?
